30 minutes on the treadmill today, for a total of 2.5 miles. 5 minute warm up/ 22 minutes running/ 3 minute cool down. I ran between 5 and 6, which is a pretty big deal to me.

45 minutes on the treadmill while watching Alice in Wonderland. :) A mixture of running for 5 minutes/walking for 2, for a total of 3.4 miles. And then straight into Jillian’s Killer Buns and Thighs. Oh man, my legs are dying. I thought I was gonna have to quit after the fire hydrant and donkey kick part. It was killing my wrists. So maybe I need to do some wrist exercises? I don’t even know if that’s a thing. But it sounds like a thing…Google will know.
Now, onward to make some soup for lunch tomorrow.
Level 2 of the 30 Day Shred. Oh my gods, I forgot how hard that workout was. Jiliian killed me. I had to use 3 pound weights a couple times. :/
Also, my eating was horrible today(a toaster strudel and Panera Mac N Cheese). That Panera Mac N Cheese has 980 calories in it BTW! Epp! I know. I know. It’s horrible. This is a long process for me. The only positive I had from today was that I didn’t drink soda. So, there’s that.
Tomorrow will be better. My plan is 45 minutes running and Killer Buns and Thighs.
This morning I decided to make oatmeal. I forget 1 very important fact: I hate oatmeal. It just tastes like wet cereal and smells like baby food. So, no more oatmeal for this girl. Egges it is, Precious. Egges for the rest of my days.
Also, I do not do not DO NOT want to do anything today because my feet hurt. Since I’ve started working at BAM and spend so much more time standing, my feet always hurt. :( Poor shoe choice plus a high arch. I need to do something about this.
So, I’m going to do Level 2 of the shred and see how my feet feel after that. Geezzzeee, I’m not even a week back into working out and I’m already complaining(I just needed to get the negative out somewhere so I can convince myself to get on with the workout).
1st recipe: Whole-Wheat Buttermilk Pancakes (pg. 64)
- 3.6 ounces whole wheat flour(3/4 a cup)
- 3.4 ounces of all purpose flour(about 3/4 a cup)
- 3 tablespoons of sugar
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/8 teaspoon of salt
- 1 1/2 cups low-fat buttermilk
- 1 tablespoon canola oil
- 1 large egg
- 1 large egg white
- 3/4 cup maple syrup
- 3 tablespoons butter

This recipe is really simple and you just combine it all together in a bowl, then pour it into a pan to make pancakes. I’ve been making pancakes out of a box that you just add water to, so you can imagine the difference in taste.
These were delicious. I used self rising flour(left out baking powder and salt) because I didn’t have baking powder and I only used 1 egg but they turned out amazing. I’m going to start using more whole wheat flour and less white flour every time until they are completely whole-wheat pancakes.
Overall A++ on my cooking skills and taste.
So I told you guys I got a new cookbook and here it is:

I think it will be great to get my cooking/eating back on track. I’m going to start posting the recipes and stuff I make so let’s hope this turns out magnificent.
Level 1 of the 30 Day Shred and then 2 miles on the treadmill at 21:20.
So basically I need to step it up with my running and I’m going to start level 2 of the shred because level 1 is getting easy.
Yesterday I got on the treadmill for 25 minutes(15 minutes running).
And today I did 30 Day Shred and ran a mile to see what my time was. I’m at 9:47. :/ So, that means I need to kill 3 minutes off my time in 162 days.

Plus, I bought some cook books today! Cooking Light: The Food Lover’s Healthy Habits Cookbook and The Soup Bible. I already have The Eat-Clean Diet Cookbook, so I’m thinking between the 3 I should be able to teach myself how to cook and eat healthier.
So I’ve been MIA these past few months. From this blog and from any kind of healthy lifestyle. I needed motivation to get me going somewhere and I decided to sign up for the Turtle Krawl 5k! Woohoo! Okay, the main reason I picked this race was because I love turtles and all the money goes to the Sea Turtle Preservation Society.
Plus, the t-shirt is super cool and if you finish in the top 3 you get this awesome medal.

This one is from 2010, but do you see how cool it is?! I’m gonna have to step it up a lot to finish in the top 3 for my age group. I’m not even sure if it’s possible, since I’m running about a 10 minute mile right now, but I’m gonna bust my ass and try. I have until September.
I really need to make this happen. I checked the times for my age group and it looks like I would need a 7:20-7:29 miles pace to be in the top 3 for my age group. :O Is that even possible for me? Well, I’m about to find out.
Edit: Last year the time’s were 6:30-7:19.
